Scouts

The Scout Troop is the oldest and third section of 1st Bennetts End Scouts. You can become a Scout from the age of 10 and stay until to you are 14, before moving to Hemel Explorer Scouts.

Scouts are encouraged to take part in a wide range of activities as part of their programme, such as traditional Scouting skills such as camping, survival and cooking. Taking part is key and there are a number of challenges awards and activity badges that Scouts can gain during their time in the section to recognise their achievements.

Scouts aims to build and develop young people’s confidence, sense of adventure and outdoor skills, as well as encouraging them to explore their beliefs and attitudes and be creative. It offers them the independence to put these skills into practice at camps and trips away.

We run several camps throughout the year, some consist of a weekend away under canvas at our local campsite or further afield.

Scouting is about being with friends, as part of a team, participating fully in the adventure and opportunities of life.

Most Scouts join us from Cubs, but you can join at any time even if you’re new to Scouting. Just visit the join page to send us your details and we’ll be in touch.
